About Randy

Writing about yourself is one of the hardest things you’ll ever do. What would you like to know about me?
I have an artistic sensibility that extends into everything I do. From my passion for music to my joy of cooking. I’ve always enjoyed photography as a hobby and even shared a home darkroom with my best friend as a teenager.
However, I always wanted to be a professional musician. I was classically trained on flute and learned to play saxaphone, guitar and piano. That was my first love. But as fate would have it, my passion would not be realized in music.
I went back to school and graduated with a degree in Commercial Advertising Photography. I started working with some of the best photographers in the world and photographed celebrities, rock stars and regular people with amazing stories.
My photography is a reflection of my neurotic discipline and my passion for people. I bring experience and passion to the camera. An emotional investment with what I’m seeing. When my mind, eye and heart all come together, that is the decisive moment.
I prefer the beauty of natural light to the intrusion of flash. That’s not to say I haven’t learned how to craft natural looking light artificially. Learning to see natural light and placing my subject in just the right place is the greatest challenge. I’ve spent a lifetime learning to see light. As Einstein said…”For the rest of my life, I will reflect on what light is.”
Light tells a story. Capturing moments that breathe with intensity and life— spontaneous, candid and passionate—that is a part of me I hope to share with you.
